Tokyo plans to call on Pyongyang to provide more convincing answers to 150 questions and issues it raised in 2002 over North Korea’s abductions of Japanese, a government source said Saturday.
Japan will bring up the matter during talks with North Korea in the hope that it can clarify issues that were not fully addressed regarding Japanese kidnapped by North Korean agents in the 1970s and 1980s, the source said.

その後の談話の文言を巡る日韓間の具体的な調整は、上記外相会談を受けて開始されたが、談話の原案は、聞き取り調査（１９９３年７月２６日～３０日）の終了前の遅くとも１９９３年７月２９日までに、それまでに日本政府が行った関連文書の調査結果等を踏まえて既に起案されていた（上記４（７）参照）。
談話の文言の調整は、談話発表の前日となる８月３日までの間、外務省と在日本韓国大使館、在韓国日本大使館と韓国外務部との間で集中的に実施され、遅くとも７月３１日には韓国側から最初のコメントがあったことが確認された。その際、韓国側は、発表内容は日本政府が自主的に決めるものであり、交渉の対象にする考えは全くないがとしつつ、本問題を解決させるためには、韓国国民から評価を受け得るものでなければならず、かかる観点から、具体的発表文を一部修正されることを希望する、そうした点が解決されることなく日本政府が発表を行う場合は、韓国政府としてはポジティブに評価できない旨述べた。その後、韓国側は、上記文言調整の期間中複数回に亘りコメントを行った。これに対し、日本側は、内閣外政審議室と外務省との間で綿密に情報共有・協議しつつ、それまでに行った調査を踏まえた事実関係を歪めることのない範囲で、韓国政府の意向・要望について受け入れられるものは受け入れ、受け入れられないものは拒否する姿勢で、談話の文言について韓国政府側と調整した。韓国側との調整の際に、主な論点となったのは、〈１〉慰安所の設置に関する軍の関与、〈２〉慰安婦募集の際の軍の関与、〈３〉慰安婦募集に際しての「強制性」の３点であった。
